Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret

The pursuit of excellence and meticulous vineyard care is a true family tradition, passed down through generations with the motto: "Quality, Nobility." The domain's renown began to take shape with his grandparents, Eugène Mongeard and Edmée Mugneret, since 1945. Today, Vincent continues this legacy, managing the thirty hectares of the estate across thirty-five appellations, always within the family.

A Prolific Estate Surrounding the Village of Vosne-Romanée

The family vineyard's extent reflects their expertise. For red wines, the Mongeard-Mugneret family primarily cultivates Pinot Noir, the only grape variety permitted for the 35 Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée. The sole exception is the Bourgogne Passetoutgrain appellation, where Gamay is blended with Pinot Noir at approximately 50% during vinification.

Among these appellations, you will find:

• Five Grand Crus: Echezeaux Grand Cru, Echezeaux “La Grande Complication,” Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, and Richebourg Grand Cru.
• Eight Premier Crus: Three in Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, two in Vougeot Premier Cru, one in Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru, one in Beaune Premier Cru, and one in Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru.
• Eight Village Appellations: Marsannay, Fixin and Fixin Vieilles Vignes, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
• Numerous Regional Appellations and special cuvées.

For white wines, Chardonnay is the primary grape variety, except for Bourgogne Aligoté, which is made from the eponymous grape.
