Domaine d’Hondrat extends over eighty hectares next to Sète, just behind the Thau Lagoon. It produces wines in the Languedoc-Roussillon AOC as well as in IGP Pays d’Oc. Ideally situated under the southern French sun, it is swept by both the sea breeze and the Tramontane wind. This exceptional terroir and the beauty of the region inspire, but they are not enough for Romain Vigroux. Innovation, the thrill of risk, and a constant desire to try new things drive this passionate winemaker year after year.

A Legacy of Innovation

The history of the estate dates back to 1981, when Basile Vigroux bought his first vines. Romain is now part of the fifth generation of the family working the vineyard. From generation to generation, one constant has marked the history of the estate: the continual pursuit of new projects as a true antidote to boredom. The vineyard, which started with 2 hectares, now spans eighty hectares, and the cuvées continue to evolve and surprise.

Each wine in the Domaine d’Hondrat range indeed has its own story. Reinventing, questioning, improving, and never being satisfied with what has been achieved: these are the driving forces behind Romain’s daily work. His latest pride is the “LES INITIÉS” cuvées, which mark a significant milestone in the quality of the red wines he produces. In addition to the premium “LES INITIÉS” cuvées in red, rosé, and white, the estate also produces innovative cuvées in both bottle design and content.
