DOMAINE DE VILLARGEAU: A PASSION, PEOPLE AND EMOTIONS TO SHARE

Domaine de Villargeau
With his father and uncle, Marc Thibault expresses the terroir of their hills through three grape varieties across four cuvées. While Marc developed a passion for wine at Vosne Romanée with Jean Yves Bizot, he primarily caught the bug for sharing and conviviality. Every day, he thinks about these future tasting moments as he follows the rhythm of nature, his vines, and the fermentation process.
Explore the Loire and Discover the AOC Coteaux du Giennois
Domaine de Villargeau is a family estate that has been in operation since the 1900s and is registered in the Coteaux du Giennois, which has been recognized as an AOC in the Loire vineyard since 1998. On these hills, production is limited and focused on a few hectares and three grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, and Pinot Noir. This Loire secret is expressed on soils of flint, marl, and limestone. The white wines are fresh, aromatic, and mineral, while the red wines are unique, with fresh, fruity characteristics ideal for shared moments.
Marc Thibault: A Lover of People and Terroir
The vineyard has been certified “Terra Vitis” since 2012. This is a daily commitment to the life of the earth, present and future generations of consumers, the vines, and transparency. Following this sustainable viticulture approach initiated in 2012, the vineyard has been converting to organic viticulture since September 2019. The estate is currently focusing on balancing the soils and wines while embracing the innovations of the new generation. Green manures are taking precedence, sulfite additions are being gradually eliminated, and a new website is being developed to support the estate in its role as ambassador of its terroir.
