Founded in 2007 in San Gavino, this estate is dedicated to highlighting Corsica's endemic and emblematic grape varieties, celebrating a deeply rooted family heritage and quality production where ancestral methods are honored.

Domaine San Gavino: The Essence of Corsican Grape Varieties

Domaine San Gavino aims to showcase the sublime Corsican terroir by introducing people to the island’s forgotten grape varieties. The range of grape varieties cultivated here is predominantly endemic: Niellucciu, Vermentinu, Sciaccarellu, Carcajolo, along with Syrah and Minustellu.

This diversity allows the estate to offer a range of wines suitable for all occasions. Domaine San Gavino produces young wines with a smooth structure, ideal for summer drinking. Additionally, the estate crafts a special cuvée, the “Contrella.” This deeply structured, barrel-aged wine, matured in oak for 18 months, unveils the extensive aromatic palette and complexity of Corsica’s emblematic grape varieties.

A Promising Collaboration: The Father-Son Duo

Innovation and experimentation are at the heart of San Gavino. A new chapter has recently unfolded with the introduction of an innovative cuvée, Carta Nera. Developed in collaboration between father and son, this cuvée harmoniously blends Niellucciu, Syrah, and Minustellu. Its aging in oak barrels and clay jars imparts a unique character. This cuvée is distinguished by its intense color, tempered by the softness of Syrah. The jar aging adds a spicy and refreshing touch, culminating in a delicate finish.
