The vineyards of Savoie-Bugey, on the border with Switzerland, produce AOC Pétillant de Savoie. The appellation covers 1,800 hectares spread over 51 communes in four départements (Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Ain and Isère). The vines of varieties such as chasselas, chardonnay, jacquère, aligoté, gamay and pinot noir, grown in a continental climate and influenced by the Mediterranean and oceanic climates, produce light, fruity sparkling white and rosé wines typical of their terroir.
