In the departments of Savoie and Jura, on the Swiss border, lies the little-known vineyard of Savoie-Bugey, home in particular to the AOC Vin de Savoie Ayze mousseux. This appellation covers around 22 hectares in Haute-Savoie, where the soils are mainly composed of clay, pebbles and scree. The gringet, altesse and roussette vines, grown in a continental climate with mountain influences, produce sparkling white wines with a bottle pressure of between 3 and 6 bars. These wines are distinguished by their aromatic profile, combining fresh fruit, dried fruit and floral notes.
