In the departments of Savoie and Jura, on the border with Switzerland, lies a small, little-known vineyard called Savoie-Bugey. The AOC Roussette du Bugey vineyards are located in the Ain department, covering almost 13 hectares of soil made up mainly of chalky clay, pebbles and scree. The vines planted in this appellation are exclusively Roussette vines, which are exposed to the semi-continental climate and the many influences of this geographical area, and are used to produce dry white wines. These wines have mineral notes and aromas of white flowers.
