AOC Seyssel

In the departments of Savoie and Jura, on the border with Switzerland, there is a small, little-known vineyard, that of Savoie-Bugey. It includes the AOC Seyssel.

The appellation area of ​​this AOC extends across the departments of Ain and Haute-Savoie over some 80 hectares of soils mainly composed of gravel, sand and pebbles. Roussette (altesse) vines, subject to the continental climate and multiple influences (Mediterranean and oceanic) of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and produce white wines. These wines are characterized by their aromatic character marked by fresh fruits and flowers, including violet.
