Burgundy, in the heart of France, is a historic wine-growing region, famous for its grands crus, of which AOC Côte de Beaune Villages is one. Covering 14 communes in the Côte-d'Or and Saône-et-Loire departments, this appellation produces red wines from Pinot Noir vines grown on limestone soils. The wines are supple, with a bouquet dominated by red and black fruits, and improve with age, reaching their peak after a few years' cellaring, up to 10 years.
