Burgundy, one of France's oldest wine-growing regions, is famous for its grands crus, including the AOC Côte de Beaune. This appellation covers 30 hectares of limestone and calcareous soils on the Montagne de Beaune. It produces red wines, from Pinot Noir, and white wines, mainly from Chardonnay. The well-balanced reds offer aromas of red berries and can be kept for 2 to 5 years. The whites are round on the palate, with mineral and citrus notes.
