FROSÉ: WHERE DOES THIS COCKTAIL COME FROM, THE BUZZ OF THE SUMMER?

Discover the Latest Trend: Frosé Cocktail
Made in the USA
If you’re a fan of rosé wine and granita, you’ll love the latest cocktail trend of the year: frosé!
A refreshing blend of rosé wine, sugar, fruit purée, and crushed ice, frosé hails from the USA, specifically New York. The trend took off when a New Yorker posted a photo of the cocktail on Instagram a few months ago. It didn’t take long for the phenomenon to ignite online, spreading its fame across oceans. Australian Kristian Klein even embraced the trend, making frosé a major highlight on the menu at his Japanese restaurant, Mr. Migayi, in Melbourne.
How to Make Homemade Frosé
In France, you might have to wait until next summer to find this delightful cocktail in bars. But in the meantime, you can make your own frosé at home. You’ll need a bottle of rosé wine, strawberries, lemon juice, granulated sugar, a blender, and a freezer. For the wine, choose a darker, fruitier, and sweeter rosé to give your frosé a lovely color. A Cabernet d’Anjou from the Loire Valley, for example, would be perfect.
