Portraits of winemakers
DOMAINE DE HAUTE PERCHE

Domaine de Haute Perche: A Jewel in Aubance
Overlooking stunning landscapes just 10 km from Angers, Domaine de Haute Perche is a tribute to Anjou’s winemaking tradition, enriched by a modern and responsible approach. At Domaine de Haute Perche, biodynamics is practiced with conviction, reflecting a deep commitment to agriculture that listens to and respects nature’s rhythms, producing vibrant wines that are a true expression of their unique terroir.
Since its establishment in the 1960s and its acquisition in 2019 by visionaries passionate about the French art de vivre, Domaine de Haute Perche has become a guardian of the region’s viticultural heritage. The vineyards are spread across three distinct plots, each with its unique characteristics such as exposure, soil, or slope. These plots, true witnesses to the richness and uniqueness of the terroir, are the stage for agriculture that goes beyond environmental respect, aiming to create a perfect symbiosis with nature.
A Committed and Innovative Estate
Driven by the ambition of its owners, Domaine de Haute Perche is constantly seeking new ways to enhance its terroir and share its passion for wine. The estate’s approach, rooted in a deep ecological awareness, aims for carbon neutrality by 2025 through ambitious initiatives such as transitioning to biodynamic practices, planting massal selections, and exemplary water and energy management.
The estate is also committed to social responsibility and employee well-being. Domaine de Haute Perche has undertaken a complete overhaul of its work methods to provide its staff with an exemplary working environment (including a dining room, rest area, shower facilities, training, and high-quality equipment). In winemaking, Domaine de Haute Perche employs precise and minimally invasive methods, using micro-doses of sulfur only when necessary.
Domaine de Haute Perche: Vibrant Wines
Domaine de Haute Perche is not just a winemaking location; it is an invitation to discover wines that reflect their terroir. Characterized by its schist (red, green, ochre, blue) and clay soils, Domaine de Haute Perche produces wines with a mineral profile, highlighted by controlled aging. Each cuvée, crafted with care and passion, reflects the winemakers’ commitment to preserving the identity and expression of each plot.
Dominated by Chenin Blanc, the emblematic grape of the Loire vineyard, the estate’s white wines come in various forms. At Domaine de Haute Perche, Chenin Blanc gives rise to a range of wines from exquisite dry whites to luscious sweet wines and sparkling crémants. The red and rosé wines are equally impressive, with wonderful cuvées in AOC Anjou Villages Brissac, AOC Anjou Gamay, and AOC Cabernet d’Anjou.
