CHÂTEAU DE FIGUIÈRES, A NATURAL SETTING

Château de Figuières: Nature as a Gem
Perched 150 meters above sea level, this vineyard estate fully benefits from the Mediterranean Sea's influence. At Château de Figuières, the sea breezes gently cleanse and invigorate the vines, while the scents of garrigue fill the air. Moreover, the cool night temperatures brought by its proximity to the sea promote a slow and balanced maturation of the grapes, ensuring wines of exceptional quality.
This unique place, bathed in the bluish hues of the Bages and Gruissan ponds, is a tribute to biodiversity and life, dictating a respectful and holistic viticultural approach. Château de Figuières was built on the foundations of an old estate that had endured the devastating phylloxera crisis. After having its vines completely destroyed by the infamous pest and serving as a pasture for sheep for several decades, Château de Figuières experienced a revival in the 1980s, thanks to the work of dedicated and passionate winemakers.
A Strong Ecological Commitment
In its ongoing quest for excellence and authenticity, Château de Figuières has embarked on an ambitious agro-ecological transformation project, abandoning agrochemicals in favor of an approach that promotes biodiversity and soil health. The estate has also set goals to reduce its environmental impact at every stage of production. This commitment is reflected in precise and thoughtful actions, aimed at capturing the essence of the terroir in each bottle produced, in perfect harmony between tradition and modernity.
The transition to organic farming, undertaken since 2016, reflects this desire to innovate while preserving the integrity of this unique terroir. Efforts also focus on reducing environmental impact at every production stage, with the goal of presenting mature wines that evoke true gastronomic emotions. These wines, produced from low yields (only 30 hectoliters per hectare on average), testify to the estate's devotion to its terroir, offering a perfect balance between power and finesse.
Château de Figuières: The Pursuit of Flavor Above All
Audrey Pujo, winemaker at Château de Figuières, is driven by a deep passion for her craft and her land. Embracing a philosophy centered on profound respect for the environment and plants, the estate strives to produce complex and generous wines that fully reflect the unique terroir of La Clape. Audrey Pujo's journey, marked by solid international experience (New Zealand, South Australia) and viticulture studies, led her to discover Figuières. Immediately falling in love with this exceptional place, Audrey quickly recognized the potential of this vineyard.
Magical moments, such as the sunrises over the Narbonne plains during harvest, are moments of grace that remind and reinforce her commitment. Each day is driven by the desire to elevate the estate to excellence while caring for this slice of paradise. Produced from healthy cultivation, meticulous vinification, and a keen attention to grape maturity, the wines of Château de Figuières reflect both its preserved terroir and the identity of its winemaker. Generous, clear, and balanced, the wines of Château de Figuières are an expression of a passion for authenticity, complexity, and elegance.
