CLOS DE NOËL, WHEN FAMILY TRADITION RHYMES WITH INNOVATION

Clos de Noël: Where Family Tradition Meets Innovation
Under the guidance of Michelle and Thierry EYNARD, along with their children Pierrick and Yohan, Clos de Noël embarked on a new era in 2018. With Yohan and his partner taking the reins, they marked the debut of their wines in bottles, signaling the start of a promising journey deeply rooted in respect for the terroir and a passion for viticulture.
Clos de Noël: A Commitment to Biodiversity
Located in the commune of Faurilles, the estate spans 16 hectares and boasts a historic vineyard primarily consisting of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Recently, the vineyard has expanded to include new varieties such as Côt (the local name for Malbec), Gros Manseng, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Prunelard, reflecting a commitment to innovation and diversification.
The philosophy at Clos de Noël emphasizes respectful and responsible agriculture. The management of the vines involves mechanical work and the creation of cover crops, highlighting the estate’s dedication to preserving biodiversity and expressing the authentic terroir. The soils, predominantly clay-limestone, benefit from the presence of "TRAN," a very stony soil type that contributes to producing characterful wines.
At Clos de Noël, vinification is meticulous and minimizes the use of additives, favoring indigenous yeasts and limiting sulfite doses. This approach, combined with careful water management and a pursuit of natural balance in the vines, reflects the profound belief that wine quality begins with respect for the land.
Ambitious Projects for Characterful Wines
Driven by a spirit of innovation and a shared passion for wine, Yohan and Camille look to the future with ambition. Their project aims not only to diversify grape varieties in response to climate change but also to enhance the estate’s hospitality, improve product quality, and expand their wine range. The unfortunate accident of their finest amphora breaking is seen as a learning step on their path to excellence rather than a setback. The estate’s motto, "As long as there is wine, there is hope," perfectly captures their optimism and determination to share their passion for wine. This love for their vines motivates them to rise each morning to cultivate the land passed down to them, with hopes of passing it on to future generations.
Passionate about gastronomy, the winemakers at Clos de Noël craft wines designed to elevate a good meal. The estate focuses primarily on creating wines with character, yet always with finesse. The choice of aging in amphorae, which enhances the explosion of fruit on the palate, was a natural decision for Clos de Noël. Each bottle represents passionate work, an exceptional terroir, and a rich family history, inviting you to discover and share the pleasure of authentic wine.
