"NATURE HUMAINE": A PREVIEW OF CÉDRIC KLAPISCH'S NEW FILM

A Sneak Peek into Cédric Klapisch's Upcoming Film: "Ce qui nous lie"
From "Le Vin et le vent" to "Ce qui nous lie": A Story of Burgundy's Wine and Family
Scheduled for release in June, Cédric Klapisch's latest film, originally titled Le Vin et le vent and now known as Ce qui nous lie, delves into the world of Burgundy winemakers. True to his process, the director of Le Péril Jeune began with a location scout, capturing the film's setting through photography before diving into the actual shooting.
"Rather than focusing on wine and the people who make it, I chose to focus on nature," Cédric Klapisch shared in an interview with Augustin Trapenard on France Inter's Boomerang. Known for his urban settings, Klapisch explores a new genre by immersing himself in Burgundy's vineyards. "There is something inherently human in the vineyards because they are meticulously aligned and shaped. The landscapes of Burgundy are rich with human activity. My aim is to depict nature as modified by humans," explains the filmmaker.
Synopsis of Ce qui nous lie
"Jean (Pio Marmai) left his family and his native Burgundy ten years ago to travel the world. Upon learning of his father's imminent death, he returns to his childhood home. He reconnects with his sister, Juliette (Ana Girardot), and his brother, Jérémie (François Civil). Their father passes away just before the grape harvest begins. Over the course of a year, through the changing seasons, these three young adults will rediscover or reinvent their sibling bond, growing and maturing alongside the wine they produce."
Get ready for a cinematic journey through the heart of Burgundy and the complexities of family and nature.
