MERSEA: FAST-GOOD FISH

Discover "Mersea": Paris's Fresh Take on Fast Food
Mersea: French-Style Fish and Chips
In the fight against junk food, fast food is taking a fresh turn. A prime example of this trend is Paris’s "fast-good" restaurant, Mersea, which opened in July 2016 just a stone’s throw from the Grands Boulevards.
Mersea, the epitome of French-style fish and chips, embraces the notion of fast food without compromising on quality. Founded by longtime friends Keyvan, Sam, Michael, and Santiago, this trendy eatery focuses entirely on seafood with a Breton twist. The menu, curated by Michelin-starred Breton chef Olivier Bellin, formerly of Auberge des Glazicks, features a selection of dishes including steamed trout, quinoa salad, freshly caught black pollock, lentil soup, and fish and chips with a French flair.
Drinks and Desserts with a French Touch
The culinary influence at Mersea is subtle yet impactful, evident in the delicate, crispy batter of the fish and chips, which is free from excess fat. Accompaniments include homemade "zig-zag" fries or rice with cranberries, a nod to Iranian cuisine suggested by Keyvan.
For dessert, you can enjoy a lemon cream topped with Breton shortbread, sea salt, and a basil and cherry tomato coulis. Mersea’s drink menu features a range of ciders, beers, and wines, all proudly made in France.
