In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes the AOC Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru.

The appellation area of this AOC extends in the Côte de Beaune over approximately 350 hectares of mainly clay-limestone soils. Pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot blanc vines are planted in this appellation, which produces white and red wines (including 22 Premiers Crus). Very expressive of the terroirs on which they are produced, the red wines have in common their fruitiness, their balance and their structure. The whites are quite lively and mellow, with aromas of hawthorn or fruit (banana, pineapple). These are wines that keep well.
