The Savoie region is made up of 21 white-wine appellations, 3 using Traditional Methods, 6 red and 1 Savoie rosé. Savoie's most typical varieties are Jacquère or Altesse for the whites and Mondeuse for the reds. Bugey has 500ha of vines. Before creating the appellation there were 212 varieties. Today the main ones are Gamay, Pinot Noir, Mondeuse Noire and Poulsard for the reds, and Chardonnay and Altesse for the whites. Since 2009, Bugey has received the status of AOC Bugey, Roussette du Bugey and Bugey Mousseux, or sparkling. Bugey also has two AOCs for sparkling wines, famous for their lightness, the Cerdon and the Montagnieu.

DOMAINE YVES DUPORT
Over time and over four generations, an estate has been developed that is now almost 10 hectares. With several wine-growing friends sharing the same outlook, as partners, I transform their grape production, either in part or entirely. This allows me to produce around 140,000 bottles, split into 50% Bugey Blanc, 30% Bugey Méthode Traditionnelle and 20% Bugey Rouge. The vinification and ageing, right up to the bottling, including the process for the "méthode traditionnelle" products, are carried out entirely by me.
