Wine and mozzarella tomatoes: 2 perfect matches

Perfect Wine Pairings for a Light Lunch
Here are two wine suggestions to complement this light meal that's perfect for lunch.
The Classic Pairing: With a Rosé Wine
The Italian classic of tomatoes and mozzarella has long delighted French palates. This pairing exemplifies balance at its best. The acidity of the tomato pairs beautifully with the creamy texture of the mozzarella, while the basil and olive oil add a fragrant touch. To accompany this dish, we recommend a fruity and spicy southern rosé to enhance the tomato’s flavor, as well as the basil and olive oil. It should also have a certain freshness to balance the rich, melting texture of the mozzarella. A rosé from IGP Hautes-Alpes or AOC Vins de Corse Coteaux du Cap Corse would be ideal.
Our Suggestion: Le Goût des Vacances Domaine Allemand
The Original Pairing: With a Red Wine
While a white wine is certainly a good match for this dish, we suggest thinking outside the box by trying a summer red wine (yes, they do exist!). Look for a wine with a very fruity character, a light structure, and smooth tannins so as not to overshadow the freshness of this delicate dish. A red from Provence, such as Bandol, or a wine from the Rhône Valley, like Ventoux, would work perfectly. The fruity notes of these wines will complement the light acidity of the tomato without overpowering the mozzarella, thanks to their subtle tannins and round mouthfeel.
Our Suggestion: Vignerons du Mont Ventoux Altitude 500
