Portraits of winemakers
MAISON NOÉPIERRE, WINES WITH A ‘NOSE’ AND A ‘MOUTH’!

The Magic of the First Drops
From the very first drops, the magic happened, and since then, Richard’s passion for this drink that "nourishes men and women and gladdens hearts" has only grown day by day. His encounter with a Best Sommelier of France taught him how to discern and appreciate a good wine. For Richard, a good wine is one "where you remember the label, the moment, and the person with whom you shared it!"
After an initial career as a winemaker in the Vallée des Vaux in Burgundy on the Côte Chalonnaise, Richard Louvenaz decided to put his experience to use in his region by founding Maison Noépierre. He set out to bring together several winemakers to pool their talents and energies under the banner of Maison Noépierre. The philosophy of the house is clear: "bottles with a nose and a mouth to delight the taste buds!" When you open a bottle of wine, you must never forget the sweat of the winemaker who works hard to express and reveal their terroir. However, as Richard often reminds us, despite the labor, the passion for the craft makes it feel less like work and more like fun.
A Low Sulfite Label
Maison Noépierre carefully selects its wines, and all are labeled with a Low Sulfite certification. Richard Louvenaz places special emphasis on reducing sulfite levels in his wines without compromising quality and aging potential. Rather than eliminating sulfites entirely—which are essential for preserving wine—Maison Noépierre strives to minimize their presence in its wines. As the Maison Noépierre motto goes: "the healthier the grape, the less sulfites the wine needs." To this end, Richard Louvenaz established a collective brand called "Low Sulfite," accompanied by a seal intended to reassure consumers about the SO2 content in wines after each bottle is analyzed by an accredited oenology laboratory.
Beyond reducing sulfite levels, Maison Noépierre plans to plant a vineyard with grape varieties resistant to vine diseases while maintaining impeccable taste and quality. Indeed, Richard Louvenaz is committed to advancing viticulture to make it healthier and more environmentally friendly, without losing sight of wine's primary role: to bring pleasure and emotions to those who drink it.
