Portraits of winemakers
CHAMPAGNE RÉGIS POISSINET, A FAMILY STORY

Régis Poissinet: A Legacy of Passion and Biodynamic Champagne
From a Young Apprentice to a Visionary Winemaker
Régis Poissinet grew up on the family estate. At just 15 years old, he began his apprenticeship and started working in the vineyards. In 1983, under his watchful eye, the estate invested in its first press, marking the transformation of vineyard labor into Champagne—a defining moment that sparked Régis's vocation.
In 2008, Régis Poissinet took over the reins and brought a new vision to the estate. Since then, he has dedicated himself to its development, sharing, "My goal? To create a moment of emotion, to immerse people in their memories."
A Biodynamic Approach to Champagne
Today, Domaine Régis Poissinet covers 7 hectares in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. The vines thrive on clay-limestone and limestone-silt soils. The vineyard, around forty years old, consists of about thirty plots spread across Cuchery, Troissy, Leuvrigny, and Baslieux. In this terroir, Pinot Meunier reigns supreme, representing nearly 80% of the vines, complemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Since 2017, Régis Poissinet has committed to a project that combines his passion for nature with his work by converting to organic and biodynamic farming. This shift has been a true revelation for the winemaker. Through meticulous work, he revitalizes the soil and the wines, cultivating the plots without chemicals and using ancestral methods that foster biodiversity. Each grape is unique and carefully selected to create exceptional Champagne.
Régis Poissinet is driven by a single desire: "I love above all freedom, the unconventional, and I am determined to produce cuvées with their own universe, guided by the stars and planets." The winemaker aims to restore vitality to the soil and pass on this exceptional know-how and terroir to future generations, including his son Maxime, who works alongside him.
Prestigious Champagnes from Régis Poissinet
Régis Poissinet sees himself as a facilitator rather than an intervener in the winemaking process. He collaborates with nature, the soils, and the cosmos to create Champagne that evokes emotions and memories. His work as a winemaker is driven by a singular wish: excellence. "My projects and ambitions are to always offer the best Champagnes, achievable through a strict selection of the most natural grapes and juices."
In his constant quest for improvement, Régis Poissinet offers Champagnes with a unique profile. Since 2014, he has crafted an atypical cuvée in his image, Champagne Irizée Meunier. This 100% Pinot Meunier Champagne is perfectly balanced, structured, and elegant. It "symbolizes the connection between earth and sky, gods and men, linking all cosmic elements that give life meaning." This Champagne pairs perfectly with spicy dishes, confit lamb, poultry, or a cheese platter.
Domaine Régis Poissinet also offers the Terre d’Irizée cuvée, an invitation to explore the terroir with a harmonious blend of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay for a fresh, fruity cuvée. Finally, the Irizée Chardonnay cuvée is a single-varietal Champagne with subtle dosage, showcasing its terroir's mineral and saline expression.
