3 GREAT CRÉMANTS TO ENJOY OVER THE FESTIVE PERIOD

Top 3 Crémants to Celebrate the Holidays Without Breaking the Bank
Crémant deserves a place in your holiday celebrations and remains very budget-friendly. Here are 3 excellent Crémants to enjoy the festive season with bubbles without overspending!
1) Bordeaux: "Les Fines Bulles"
Château du Payre – AOC Crémant de Bordeaux
Known for its prestigious red wines, Bordeaux is less famous for its Crémants. This appellation is relatively recent, dating back to 1990. AOC Crémant de Bordeaux mostly consists of white Crémants made from Sémillon, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle, though some Crémant de Bordeaux rosés are also available.
With its gourmand nose blending currant and raspberry, this Crémant from Château du Payre reveals a beautiful freshness on the palate with powerful notes of yellow fruits and persistent bubbles. This wine is perfect for an apéritif, paired with festive finger foods.
2) Jura: "Cuvée Crémant du Jura Rosé" (Blend)
Domaine Jacques Tissot – AOC Crémant du Jura
Contrary to popular belief, the Jura wine region is not limited to yellow wine and straw wine. Besides its white and red wines, Jura is also noted for its Crémants. Made from the region’s five flagship grape varieties (Trousseau, Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Savagnin), the AOC Crémant du Jura, established in 1995, produces mostly white Crémants but also some rosés.
This cuvée from Domaine Jacques Tissot, with aromas of forest fruits (currants, raspberries, blackberries), presents a very fruity, elegant, and light palate. The bubbles are airy and persistent, blending with lovely fruity and sweet notes. Perfect for holiday meals, this indulgent Crémant pairs beautifully with a red fruit ice log.
3) Loire: "Cuvée Crémant de Loire"
Château de Bellevue – AOC Crémant de Loire
Located in the Loire Valley, the Crémant-de-Loire appellation has been officially recognized since 1975. Mainly consisting of white Crémants, it combines the two key grape varieties of the Loire vineyard: Chardonnay and Chenin.
This Crémant from Château Bellevue unveils aromas of white flowers, brioche, and almonds. The palate offers a fresh and elegant attack with floral (acacia, linden) and fruity (apricot, candied lemon) notes. Enjoy this wine as an apéritif or with traditional Christmas clementines served at the end of the meal.
