TOP 5 MOST ORIGINAL BOTTLE LABELS

Top 5 Most Original Wine Labels
We bet you’ve noticed that some wine labels stand out for their design and cuvée names. Here’s our top 5 list of the most original wine labels.
1) LA GIRAFE BLONDE
Domaine Fond Moiroux – AOC Bourgogne
Winemaker’s Anecdote:
The name "La Girafe Blonde" refers to a charming tall blonde who was quite popular with women. The owners of Domaine Fond Moiroux chose to honor him by naming the wine after the nickname he gave his wife: "my blonde giraffe."
This Chardonnay-based wine reveals aromas of grapefruit, melting butter, and toasted bread. With a beautiful acidity, its palate is creamy and has a lovely length.
2) CUVÉE BONNE PRESSE
Domaine des Peyre – IGP Méditerranée
Winemaker’s Anecdote:
Patricia Alexandre, owner of Domaine des Peyre, was the editorial director of the Gault et Millau magazine for over ten years. Naturally, this leaves its mark. From the newspaper-cut label (featuring an editorial) to the cuvée name, it’s hard not to connect with the world of journalism! The name "Bonne Presse" is also a play on "rosé de presse," a rosé winemaking technique.
Dressed in a pale pink robe with salmon reflections, this rosé wine reveals a fresh citrus nose. It is a gourmet wine with notes of peach and apricot, perfect for both an apéritif and dessert.
3) CUVÉES
Py Domaine Du Causse Noir – AOC Faugères
Winemaker’s Anecdote:
The owner of Domaine de Causse Noir is named Jérôme Py. So, it seemed fitting to make a reference to the famous Greek number. But Jérôme Py didn’t stop there: he also named one of his cuvées after his son (Mathias)… and even his dog! (Caïus)
With an intense red robe, this wine presents aromas of violets and blackberries. The palate is very fresh, revealing notes of jammy black fruits.
4) IL FALLAIT ROSÉ
Domaine de Garbelle – AOC Coteaux Varois en Provence
Winemaker’s Anecdote:
This time, there’s no need to explain the pun, although it must be acknowledged that it took courage to name the cuvée like this!
With its pale pink robe with crystalline reflections and its nose of citrus and white flowers, this delicate rosé wine is ideal for an apéritif.
5) LA PETITE ROBE ROSE
Château Cantelauze – IGP Côtes du Lot
Winemaker’s Anecdote:
Isn’t this little pink label charming? The name was suggested by journalist and winemaker Jacques Legros, who at the time co-owned Château Cantelauze. He wanted to imbue this rosé with a haute couture spirit in the "Chanel style."
An elegant and flattering name for this blossomed and generous rosé with intense aromas of exotic fruits and pear. A gastronomic wine that pairs beautifully with white meat or grilled fish.
