In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes in particular the AOC Saint-Aubin.

The appellation area of this AOC extends in the Côte de Beaune over approximately 160 hectares of mainly marl, limestone and clay soils. Pinot noir and chardonnay vines are planted on this appellation, which produces red and white wines. The latter are dry, complex, express a very rich aromatic bouquet typical of chardonnay (white flowers, lemon and honey among others), and benefit from being kept between 6 and 10 years (up to 15 years for certain vintages). The red wines are full-bodied but soften with age, they express fruity notes (blackcurrant, blackberry, morello cherry) and spices, and can be kept for between 4 and 6 years (up to 15 years for the great vintages).
