As its name suggests, this vineyard is located in the South-West of France, between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, and extends over 11 departments (Aveyron, Dordogne, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes). It includes the AOC Pécharmant.

The appellation area of this AOC extends to the gates of Bergerac over some 435 hectares of soils mainly composed of sand, gravel and clay. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Côt and Merlot vines, subject to the temperate oceanic climate of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and produce red wines with very good ageing potential (between 6 and 7 years on average and up to 15 years for certain vintages). This powerful wine has marked tannins which soften after a few years in the cellar and a rich aromatic bouquet (red fruits, prune, liquorice, vanilla, chocolate, mushroom, undergrowth, toast).
