In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes the AOC Montrachet in particular.

The appellation area of ​​this AOC extends in the Côte de Beaune over approximately 130 hectares of limestone, siliceous and clayey soils. Chardonnay vines are planted in this appellation, which produces white wines classified as Grand Cru. The wines of this appellation are dry, fine, structured and with aromas of butter, dried fruits, spices and honey. They can be kept for between 10 and 15 years for the most part and up to 30 years for certain vintages.
