In the south of France, the very sunny vineyard of Languedoc-Roussillon extends over more than 240,000 hectares from Nîmes to Leucate (Aude), making it one of the largest vineyards in the world. It includes the AOC Grand Roussillon.

The appellation area of this AOC extends to the south of the Corbières massif on the territory of 89 communes of the Pyrénées Orientales and 9 communes of the Aude on some 1,800 hectares of schist, granite and limestone soils. Grenache vines (white, gray and black), macabeu, tourbat, muscat à petits grains and muscat d'Alexandrie, subject to the Mediterranean climate of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and make it possible to produce naturally sweet wines. Very expressive of the terroirs on which they were produced, these wines are known for their very aromatic character, marked mainly by fruits and flowers.
