As its name suggests, this vineyard is located in the South-West of France, between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, and extends over 11 departments (Aveyron, Dordogne, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes). It includes the AOC Côtes de Duras.

The appellation area of this AOC extends over the territory of 15 communes in the department of Aquitaine on some 2,000 hectares of soils mainly composed of limestone, clay, marl and boulbène. Muscadelle, Sauvignon, Sémillon, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines, among others, subject to the always oceanic climate of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and allow the production of dry white wines, sweet wines, rosés and semi-ageable reds. The latter are fruity, sometimes light, sometimes marked by tannins. The rosés and dry whites are also fruity, light and lively. Finally, the sweet wines are very fine and just as marked by fruit as the other wines of this appellation.
