Spread over more than 65,000 hectares of vines, the Rhône Valley vineyard is the second largest French vineyard and covers 6 departments between Vienne and Avignon. It includes the AOC Côte Rôtie.

The appellation area of this AOC extends on the right bank of the Rhône on the territory of 3 communes south of Lyon (Ampuis, Saint-Cyr-sur-Rhône and Tupin-Semons) on some 235 hectares of soils mainly composed of clay, sand, schist and gneiss. Syrah and Viognier vines, subject to the "Lyonnais" climate (characterized by both Mediterranean and continental influences of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and allow the production of red wines with very good ageing potential, which can be kept for between 5 and 20 years on average. These wines are fine and elegant, marked by silky tannins, softness and a certain roundness in the mouth (especially when Viognier is used in the production of the wine). They express a great aromatic richness and a good evolution over time (black fruits, spices, violet, cooked fruits).
