In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes in particular the AOC Corton.

The appellation area of this AOC extends at the top of the Montagne de Corton over a little over 12 hectares subject to distinct climates. Mainly a land of red wine, this Grand Cru appellation has marl, siliceous, and limestone soils, in which Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines are planted (around 2 hectares). As the first grape variety requires, this red wine expresses a broad aromatic bouquet notably marked by aromas of red and black fruits, it is powerful and tannic or fine and tender depending on the climate, and keeps well (up to 15 years for most). The white wines are distinguished, elegant and round on the palate, with notes of citrus and flowers, and also have good aging potential (around 4 to 10 years).
