In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes the AOC Chambertin.

Its appellation area extends over the Côte de Nuits wine-growing territory in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, on a little over 12 hectares of hillsides. The Pinot Noir vines are planted on marl soils at an altitude of around 300 meters. Known for being one of the 9 Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, the AOC Chambertin produces very high quality red wines, which reveal a rich and complex palette of aromas, and are long on the palate. These are very good wines for keeping that can be kept for between 10 and 20 years and up to 50 years for the greatest vintages.
