In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes the AOC Chablis Premier Cru.
Its appellation area extends over the territory of the commune of Chablis and 7 other communes on the left bank of the Serein, over a total of 770 hectares. The Chardonnay vines, the only grape variety used in the production of this wine, are planted in 17 different climats (places). The white wines produced in this prestigious AOC are made exclusively from the Chardonnay grape variety. These are wines that can be kept for a long time (between 5 and 10 years) and express the typicality of their respective terroirs.
