In the center-east of France, Burgundy is one of the oldest French wine regions, known for its very great vintages. It includes in particular the AOC Bourgogne mousseux.

Its appellation area extends over the entire Burgundy vineyard on 600 hectares of vines, which are planted in clay-limestone soils, in a climate subject to Mediterranean or oceanic influences depending on the terroir. This appellation produces sparkling red wines made exclusively from Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cesar and Tressot. The characteristics of this grape variety, which mainly gives off notes of red and black fruits, allow connoisseurs and the curious to recognize them, even if each of the wines reflects the typicality of its own terroir.
