The appellation area of this AOC extends over the Anjou vineyards in the foothills of the Massif Armoricain, covering some 70 hectares of mainly schistose soil. Cabernet-Franc and Cabernet-Sauvignon vines are planted in this appellation, which enjoys the temperate climate and oceanic influences of this geographical area. They produce red wines that age well (between 2 and 10 years). These full-bodied wines have a tannic structure and a rich, complex bouquet (red and black fruit, smoke, toast, undergrowth, spices, liquorice, flowers).
