The Bergerac Terroir and the Sigoulès Winery
Located in south-western France, the Bergerac vineyards are enriched by the presence of the Dordogne river, offering a diverse terroir ideal for growing vines. The Cave de Sigoulès, which brings together 57 winegrowers covering almost 963 hectares, is rooted in this region. Its varied soils, ranging from clay-limestone to silt and sand, offer ideal conditions for the production of red, dry and sweet white wines.
History, quality and environmental commitment
Founded in 1938 by winemaker friends, the winery is now run by the third generation, skilfully combining tradition and innovation in its winemaking process. Since 1991, the winery has placed a strong emphasis on grape quality, with technical support certified by independent bodies and holding ISO 9001 and HACCP certifications. On the environmental front, the winery is actively involved in High Environmental Value (HVE) certification and encourages organic viticulture certified by ECOCERT, thus promoting biodiversity and agro-environmental practices. As a cooperative, the winery embodies values of responsibility, solidarity and transparency, fostering unity and fairness within its community of winegrowers.
