La Grande Maison Monbazillac: Authenticity and Excellence in Organic Wine Production

Since its inception, La Grande Maison Monbazillac has remained true to the values of organic farming, long before the practice became fashionable. With over 25 years' experience in organic wine production, the estate has always implemented processes that respect the environment. In 2018, Demeter certification was awarded, testifying to a commitment to biodynamic agriculture, which goes beyond the organic label by imposing even more rigorous criteria. This choice enables us to produce exceptional organic wines, while respecting nature and the cycles of the vine.

A unique setting for winegrowing

Situated on a hillside overlooking the banks of the Dordogne River, the estate offers a unique setting for growing vines, which benefit from full southern exposure. The adjoining pond encourages the proliferation of botrytis, the fungus essential to the production of Monbazillac. On this historic site dating back to the 14th century, the grapes are harvested by hand, with great care to preserve their quality. Most of the production is aged in barrels, guaranteeing a refined wine that reflects the expertise of an estate where tradition and innovation meet in harmony.
