Over 2,000 Years of History in Tursan Wines

The history of Tursan wines stretches back more than two millennia. During the Gallo-Roman era, they were already considered prestigious and served at the tables of Emperors. However, in the 15th and 16th centuries, trade disruptions caused by the departure of the English led to overproduction in Gascony. In 1577, King Henry III of France ordered the uprooting of surplus vines and banned alcoholic beverages. It wasn’t until 1589 under King Henry IV that this ban was lifted.

Following a long period marked by challenges such as phylloxera, modernization became essential. In 1958, the creation of a cooperative sparked a renaissance for the region. Today, this cellar unites winegrowers across 500 hectares of vineyards, producing 30,000 hl of AOP Tursan and IGP Landes wines. Managed like a "grand domaine," all the local winegrowers are committed to quality and sustainable practices. Explore and rediscover the exceptional range of Tursan wines !
