A Family Estate at the Heart of Nature
Founded in 2003, Domaine Valambelle is an exclusively family-run vineyard. Spanning 24 hectares, with 18 hectares of vines planted in the 1980s by Michel Abbal, the estate is situated on sunny, schistous hillsides in the heart of the Faugères appellation. These plots, cleared from the surrounding scrubland, benefit from living soils that promote the production of generous, full-bodied, and balanced wines with distinctive garrigue notes. The remaining 6 hectares surround the village of Laurens.
Commitment to Organic Farming and Family Expertise
Domaine Valambelle has always been environmentally conscious, and in 2007, it took a step further by obtaining "Ecocert" organic certification. The vineyard's grape varieties are well-suited to the appellation and include Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre for the reds and rosés, as well as Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Vermentino for the whites. The estate practices hand harvesting, followed by meticulous sorting upon arrival at the winery. The wines are carefully crafted by Thierry Abbal, a fifth-generation winemaker, assisted by his sister Marie.
