Winegrowers since 1795 DOMAINE SARRABELLE from myth to expression of terroir. Legend has it that the Sarrabelle spring, which gushes out near the medieval Château de Montaigut, was the setting for the amorous rendezvous of the beautiful Yolande. Its name comes from the Occitan ‘sarro-bello’, meaning to embrace one's beauty..... The lower parts of the castle, destroyed during the Albigensian Crusade, have been preserved, with the Chapelle de Montaigut above.

Today, Laurent and Fabien Caussé (the 8th generation of winegrowers on the estate) have named their wines after this spring. Traditional, local wines, as well as top-of-the-range wines such as the Cuvée Saint André and the Mauzac de Sarrabelle. Ongoing research, respecting traditional farming methods, has led to the development of a limited edition sweet wine, served at the finest tables. Tradition, innovation and quality are the motto of the Caussé brothers.
