Domaine Koehly: Expertise and Tradition in Alsace
The Domaine Koehly spans 24 hectares in the heart of the Kintzheim area, in the Bas-Rhin, near the famous Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. For three generations, this family-run Alsatian estate has preserved and developed its expertise in vine cultivation.
A Family Legacy and a Shift to Viticulture
In the 1930s, the Domaine Koehly diversified its activities by practicing livestock farming and tobacco production. However, in 1970, the family decided to focus entirely on vine cultivation and wine production. This decision marked a turning point in the estate’s history, firmly establishing the family in the world of viticulture.
Responsible Production and HVE Certification
Today, under the management of Jean-Marie and Joseph Koehly, the estate is fully committed to environmentally responsible viticulture. With a focus on preserving biodiversity, they have earned the HVE level 3 certification (High Environmental Value), ensuring sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices.
An Exceptional Range of Wines
The Domaine Koehly produces a wide range of white, rosé, and red wines, made from Alsace’s traditional grape varieties:
- Sylvaner
- Riesling
- Gewurztraminer
- Pinot Gris
- Pinot Noir
The estate also produces Grands Crus and Crémants, completing this exceptional range and offering a full spectrum of flavors for wine lovers.
