Domaine de Revel: Sustainable Vines and Traditional Winemaking in AOC Coteaux du Quercy

Located in the AOC Coteaux du Quercy, just 25 km north-west of Montauban in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, Domaine de Revel is a family estate that extends across 14 hectares of vines. The vines are grouped around the winery, facing the hamlet of Revel, and are spread across seven plots that border a beautiful woodland. The estate includes four hectares in AOC Coteaux du Quercy and the rest in Vin de Pays du Comté Tolosan.

Domaine de Revel takes great pride in its sustainable practices, using techniques that respect both the terroir and the environment. These include cover planting, mechanical soil work, leaf stripping, and integrated vine-growing methods to ensure the highest quality grapes. The estate produces a variety of wines, including red, rosé, and white wines. Traditional vinification techniques are followed at the estate winery, where controlled fermentation temperatures are maintained. The top-tier wines are aged in oak barrels, contributing to their exceptional quality.

The estate’s vines are planted with a diverse range of grape varieties, including Cabernet Franc, Tannât, Gamay, Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah for the reds and rosés. For the dry and sweet whites, the estate cultivates Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Sémillon, Muscadelle, Mauzac, and Colombard. This diverse approach to grape growing and winemaking results in wines that showcase the distinctive characteristics of the Coteaux du Quercy terroir.
