The History of the Chinon Vineyard: A Family Heritage

The family-owned Chinon vineyard, located in the heart of the Loire Valley, was founded in 1936 by my grandfather, the very year the Chinon Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) was established. My father later expanded the vine plantings over the decades on land that was strong yet ideal for grape cultivation. Today, I continue this tradition by producing characterful wines primarily made from Cabernet Franc. Each vintage is the result of a meticulous selection of terroirs and vine age. Every wine is vinified separately to reveal the unique characteristics of its original terroir.

A Strong Commitment to the Environment: HVE Certified Vineyard

Our estate is proud to be certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) Level 3, a testament to our commitment to sustainable viticultural practices. We apply methods such as grass cover and soil work, fostering biodiversity within the vineyard, and using bio-control treatments to best respect our environment. This approach helps preserve the quality of the soils and the wines we produce.

The estate also stands out due to its geographic location: it is one of the few to have its entire vineyard on the slopes of Chinon, benefiting from exceptional exposure. Our aging vines, combined with these characteristics, allow us to produce wines of great expression, both rich and balanced.
