At Domaine de la Belière, siblings Céline and Gaël Ronger are dedicated to producing wines from the Bugey region, including the renowned Cerdon sparkling wine made using the traditional méthode ancestrale. The vineyard stands out for its focus on the signature varieties Gamay and Poulsard, which are essential for crafting Cerdon wine. Their viticulture practices prioritize controlled natural grass cover, which helps protect the soil, reduce erosion, and limit herbicide use. As part of their commitment to sustainability, the estate follows sustainable farming practices and is certified HVE (High Environmental Value), ensuring their environmental responsibility.
A Unique Terroir for Authentic and Sustainable Wines
Located between Lyon and Geneva, the Domaine de la Belière is set in an exceptional terroir, with 7.85 hectares of vineyards spread across four communes: Saint-Martin-du-Mont, Bohas-Meyriat-Rignat, Ceyzériat, and Briord. The combination of clay-limestone soils and diverse geological features creates an ideal environment for grape varieties like Gamay, Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Altesse to thrive. Since 2022, the estate has been undergoing organic conversion, reflecting a commitment to preserving ecological balance while producing authentic wines. Wines like Cerdon, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay showcase the richness and unique characteristics of the region's terroir.
