Maison Calmel & Joseph: A Blend of Wine, Nature, and Tranquility

The story of Maison Calmel & Joseph began in 1995 when oenologist Laurent Calmel and Jérôme Joseph united with a shared passion: to produce exceptional wines. Together with local winemakers, they created a wide range of wines that reflect the region's character. Domaine Calmel & Joseph, a former small holding in the Languedoc, now welcomes visitors with four self-catering cottages, offering a tranquil holiday surrounded by nature.

Set in the heart of the estate, which also produces olives, guests can experience traditional vineyard work, including the rhythm of the workhorse. Located in a valley within the Val de Dagne, a foothill of the Hautes Corbières, the estate offers breathtaking views of the Montagne Noire and Alaric. Just minutes from the walled city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, the location boasts spectacular landscapes.

The flora and fauna thrive in this environment, which is carefully respected and preserved. To fully enjoy the surroundings, guests can partake in activities such as cycling, swimming, sauna in the tower, hikes, and horseback riding. Alternatively, unwind to the rhythm of southern France, enjoying the evening under lantern light, when the temperature cools—an ideal time to taste the estate’s wines and savor local Mediterranean delicacies on the terraces overlooking the countryside.
