BIELLE Distillery: The Spirit of Marie Galante

Located on Marie Galante, famously known as the Island of 100 Windmills, the BIELLE Distillery has a rich history rooted in sugarcane production. Established at the end of the 19th century, the distillery has evolved through the hands of successive owners, adapting to changing times.

Initially focused on sugar production, which eventually became obsolete due to the decline of small-scale sugar refineries, the distillery shifted its focus towards the production of agricultural rum. Today, BIELLE continues to uphold the traditional craft of producing agricultural rum from pure cane juice, maintaining a deep connection to its island’s heritage and the legacy of its predecessors. This timeless production process ensures that BIELLE rum retains the authenticity and unique character of Marie Galante’s terroir.
