Château Saint-Martin-de-la-Garrigue: A Terroir of Excellence

Nestled between Béziers and Montpellier near the Mediterranean Sea, the Château Saint-Martin-de-la-Garrigue vineyard covers 63 hectares of vines, surrounded by 110 hectares of pine forests, garrigue, and olive trees. The vineyard is divided into around forty plots planted on east-facing hillsides. This positioning grants the vines substantial sunlight exposure, along with a humid climate influenced by sea breezes. The summer heat is tempered by the estate’s slight elevation, creating ideal conditions for the vines. They flourish in two soil types: sandy-gravelly red soils on sandstone and brown limestone soils on soft limestone. Harvesting begins in September and usually finishes by mid-October.

A Rich History and Viticultural Heritage in the Heart of the Mediterranean

Steeped in history, the estate surrounds a 9th-century Romanesque chapel and a Renaissance château, primarily built in 1557 and transformed over the centuries. Château Saint-Martin-de-la-Garrigue beautifully blends nature’s richness with human craftsmanship, with each generation of winemakers leaving its mark. The estate offers a diverse range of wines made from 18 grape varieties (10 red and 8 white). Cultivated through certified sustainable agriculture (Terra Vitis), the vineyard combines traditional winemaking with modern technology. Each year, the estate produces an average of 300,000 bottles, distributed throughout France and internationally.
