Knight Méric Vineyard: Tradition and Excellence in the Médoc
Knight Méric, upon being knighted by Saint Louis, chose the motto: “Be fair and fear nothing.” The vineyard is located at the tip of the Médoc, a region whose name means “Middle Earth,” situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary. A defining feature of the Médoc vineyards is the series of small gravelly hills known as "outcrops"—a mix of pebbles, sand, and gravel—that dominate the estuary landscape.
Benefiting from a privileged microclimate between the Gironde estuary and the Ocean, the vineyard follows the pure Médoc tradition, with vines planted exclusively in high-quality varieties on gravel soils. These cultivation methods, which maintain the balance between the soil and the vines, are combined with the latest technologies to produce wines with a distinct personality. Known for their finesse and exceptional aging potential, the wines of Knight Méric are a testament to the region’s enduring legacy.
