Château les Amoureuses: Revitalizing Tradition and Innovation in the Ardèche

On the right bank of the Rhône at the entrance to the Gorges de l’Ardèche, in Bourg-Saint-Andéol, the Château les Amoureuses vineyard flourishes, blending the mild northern climate with a true Mediterranean character. In 2011, Jean-Pierre Bedel, head of the Fabemi industrial group, and his wife Florence acquired this 76-hectare estate, driven by their deep-rooted love for the Ardèche land and a vision to rejuvenate it.

Every aspect of the estate was reimagined, from vineyard cultivation to the finest details in the winery. The choice of grape varieties, vineyard management, vinification, aging, and blending were all meticulously redesigned with an unwavering focus on producing quality wines that celebrate the diversity of Ardèche’s terroirs.

This vision gave birth to two distinct lines: TERRES DES AMOUREUSES—IGP Ardèche wines characterized by innovation, freedom, and audacity; and CHÂTEAU LES AMOUREUSES—traditional, elegant wines bearing the AOP Côtes-du-Rhône and IGP Coteaux de l’Ardèche labels. Together, they embody a revitalized approach to Ardèche winemaking, merging authenticity with a modern spirit.
