The estate and its history
Château Jaron, located between the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne regions, has been a family-run vineyard for four generations. Philippe Libératore took over management in 1994, and in 1998 joined forces with Caroline Comin to create Vignobles Comin-Libératore. The estate covers 40 hectares in four communes, with vines averaging 30 years of age.
A unique terroir
The vines thrive on a clay-limestone and clay-silica terroir, forcing them to root deeply to withstand the summer heat. This constraint produces ripe, dense, sweet grapes, which come together in elegant wines with aromas of crushed strawberry and candied raspberry, and well-balanced tannins. Ideal with dishes such as leg of lamb or prime rib.
Innovation and Cuvées
In 2013, Philippe and Caroline began maturing wine in jars. After a year of attention, the Giara cuvée is born in 2016. In 2020, the Tannat grape variety is added to production, also aged in jars. The wine, Absolument Tannat, reveals powerful aromas of cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, perfect for robust dishes or to enjoy on its own.
