Château Haut Selve: The Unique Creation of the 21st Century in Bordeaux
The Lesgourgues family, founded in 1974, is now in its third generation, following the leadership of Maurice and Jean-Jacques Lesgourgues. The family oversees five properties across different regions: four in Bas Armagnac, Graves, and Madiran, along with a fifth in Côtes de Blaye, where the family manages both the viticulture and commercial strategies. The guiding principles of the family estate are tradition, innovation, and beauty.
An Ambitious Creation in the Bordeaux Region
Château Haut Selve represents an audacious bet undertaken by the Lesgourgues family. The aim was to establish a grand vineyard on the grounds of a renowned property from the 19th century that had been devastated by phylloxera and left fallow for 120 years. This project stands as the only creation of the 21st century in Bordeaux.
The estate has been completely revitalized, with new vineyards, a state-of-the-art winery, redesigned landscapes, and carefully designed gates. Its motto, "Non Nova Sed Nove"—"Not New, But Renewed"—perfectly encapsulates the family’s vision: to create and build with the present in mind, while preparing for a sustainable future.
